Burial of Kibra MP Ken Okoth stopped after woman claims to have his child

The burial or cremation of Ken Okoth has been stopped by a court as the hearing of an important case related to Okoth is pending, according to local media reports. The court has to hear and determine the case filed by a woman who claims to have a child with the Member of Parliament of Kibra.

It was reported earlier today that a woman has emerged who claims to be a wife of the late Kibra MP. She has a five year-old-son and is also demanding that the son be recognized before the MP's final rites. It was also reported that the woman claimed the five-year-old boy is well known among the MP's close friends and family members.

However, Monica Okoth, the MP's wife, opposed the idea of the boy being recognized publicly.

Ken Okoth died on July 26, 2019, at The Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with colorectal cancer. He had suffered multiple organ failure.
