Five persons killed as bomb blast hits Afghan capital Kabul

Five persons have been killed as a bomb blast hit the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, according to local media reports. The blast occured around 4:00 pm local time at Parwan Bostan square in Police District 11 and left the seven other people injured. 

The explosive was placed on a bicycle and targeted a vehicle of the Interior Ministry Counter-Narcotics Department which was passing through the road.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Civilians continue to bear the brunt of conflict in Afghanistan. At least 3,812 civilians were killed or wounded in the first half of 2019, according to the United Nations. July saw the highest casualties than any month since May 2017.
