Indore: 11 lose eyesight after operation, license of hospital to be canceled

11 people have lost their eyesight after undergoing an operation for cataract at Indore Eye Hospital, according to news agency ANI. The Health Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Tulsi Ram Silawat has ordered to cancel the license of the hospital.
The patients will be given the best treatment and will be provided compensation of Rs 20,000. A seven-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter and FIR is to be registered against those found guilty of negligence.

The treatment of all 11 patients has begun, CMHO Dr. Pravin Jadia said in a statement. He further added that the cause will be investigated and the administration has ordered to submit a report in 72 hours.
