Bank of England to probe Sun report of policy decision

Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said the central bank would look into the circumstances surrounding an article published by The Sun newspaper late on Wednesday about how the BoE would expand its quantitative easing programme. The Sun reported that sources had told it the BoE would announce a 150 billion pound expansion of its quantitative easing asset purchase programme on Thursday.

"Yes, we will look into it," Bailey told reporters when asked about the report.
