Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo unveils diaper factory in Bortianor

The Hon’ble President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the Sunda Ghana Diaper Limited. The company is known as the largest diaper making factory in sub-Saharan Africa.
The President inaugurated the factory in Bortianor on December 6 as part of his tour of the Greater Accra Region. He undertook the commissioning of the factory that is working under Government’s 1-District-1-Factory initiative.
An investment of mammoth amount of USD 84 million is earmarked to make Sunda Ghana Diaper Limited as one of the largest projects operating under the 1D1F initiative. It will also export its products to the markets in sub-Saharan Africa.
“The governance of our country is good and the opportunities for investment are good,” President Nana Akufo-Addo said while reminding the government’s role in relentlessly working to attract required investment in Ghana.
Graphic Online noted that Sunda Ghana Diaper Limited is all set to establish two more factories under the 1-District, 1-Factory initiative. One is Sunda Hardware Limited and the other one is Homepro Ghana Limited at an investment of USD 18 million and USD 26 million respectively.
“It has to do with creating the conditions for investment in our country and that is why it is extremely important for the government to commit itself to the discipline that will enable it to have a strong macro-economy,” President further added.
