The Maharashtra Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) conducted raids in Palghar district, seizing materials worth Rs 1.41 crore from a pharma company operating without a proper licence, officials revealed on Friday.

The raids targeted Gaharwar Pharma Products Pvt Ltd in Vasai taluka. Despite having a licence to manufacture ayurvedic drugs in Haryana, the company was producing these medicines in Maharashtra unlawfully.

Additionally, it was discovered that Onkar Pharma, which was supposed to operate in Punjab, was fraudulently dispatching drugs from Vasai. The FDA confiscated items including ayurvedic drugs, raw materials, machinery, packing materials, labels, and pouches. A thorough investigation is ongoing, with legal actions impending.
