In a recent session of the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy brought attention to the alarming number of snakebite fatalities in India, asserting that the country records the highest snakebite mortality rate globally.
Additionally, Vellore MP M Kathir Anand raised concerns about the plight of beedi workers, many of whom are women, demanding increased wages and improved central funding. Anand called for budget allocations and pension schemes for workers over 60 years old.
Kanyakumari MP Vijay Vasanth urged the government to increase recommendations quota and re-evaluate Ayushman Bharat for comprehensive healthcare coverage. Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur pointed to corruption in the ICDS nutrition program, calling for a CBI inquiry. Furthermore, S Jothimani, MP from Karur, demanded the abolition of NEET, citing its adverse effects on students from rural areas.
