Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has accused Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena of ignoring his multiple letters about the shortage of doctors in government hospitals. Addressing a press conference, Bharadwaj said, 'I have written multiple times to him but there has been no action.'

Bharadwaj highlighted that the recruitment of medical professionals falls under the LG's jurisdiction and that he had suggested filling 292 vacancies of doctors and 234 vacancies of specialists. He proposed hiring doctors on a contractual basis due to delays in the UPSC recruitment process.

The minister stated that he had again urged the LG on July 26 to recruit doctors, specialists, and paramedics on a contractual basis, citing even a high court direction to this effect. However, there has been no hiring so far.
