Unveiled on August 02, 2024, at an event held at Ramada Plaza, Guindy by Chairman Dr. TG Govindarajan and attended by more than 40 eminent radiation oncologists, this state-of-the-art system promises enhanced precision in targeting tumors.
Brachytherapy, a treatment where a radioactive source is placed close to the tumor, has been shown to deliver high doses of radiation to cancer cells while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. This method can be used alongside external beam radiotherapy or as a standalone treatment, particularly effective in cancers of the cervix and endometrium.
