The TUXEDO-2 trial, spearheaded by Sahajanand Medical Technologies (SMT), is set to revolutionize the treatment of diabetic patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD). By comparing the efficacy and safety of Supraflex Cruz drug-eluting stent (DES) to the Xience stent, it aims to redefine patient management strategies.
Preliminary results will be unveiled at TCT 2025, shedding light on how Supraflex Cruz could influence diabetic coronary treatment. The study, which completed patient enrolment on August 6, 2024, includes 1,800 participants across 63 centers in India. Key endpoints assessed include target lesion failure (TLF) at 12 months, major adverse cardiac events (MACE), and stent thrombosis.
Lead investigator Padma Shri Dr. Upendra Kaul notes the trial's potential for groundbreaking results. Supported by SMT's innovative DES technology, TUXEDO-2 seeks to address the unmet needs of high-risk patients, potentially transforming their treatment outcomes and quality of life.
