Delhi's 'Mosquito Terminator on Wheels' Takes Charge

The Delhi Rail Division has initiated a special train named 'Mosquito Terminator on Wheels' to combat mosquito breeding along railway tracks. The train uses a truck-mounted power sprayer to disperse anti-larvae spray. It will operate until September 21, targeting various NCR areas to ensure public health safety.

The Delhi Rail Division launched a specialized train 'Mosquito Terminator on Wheels' on Friday to curb mosquito breeding along railway tracks, as stated in a press release.

A truck-mounted power sprayer, supplied by the Municipal Corporation, was loaded onto a unique 'DBKM' wagon. The sprayer disperses anti-larvae solutions while the train moves, sanitizing areas up to 50-60 meters from the tracks to Rathdhana via Adarsh Nagar and Badli, before returning to New Delhi.

The Delhi Division announced that the train will be operational until September 21, covering additional NCR regions with two rounds per route during peak mosquito breeding season. The 'Mosquito Terminator on Wheels' is aimed at decreasing mosquito larvae in burrow pits alongside tracks, enhancing public health safety for residents nearby.
