Zambia’s Ministry of Health is determined to set up clinics in all the markets across the country. The project will be accomplished by the Health Ministry in association with Zambia National Marketeers Credits Association.

The first health facility will be established at the City Market in Zambia’s capital Lusaka. Once this task is accomplished, Zambia National Marketeers Credits Association in association with the Ministry of Health will look forward to other parts. According to the Association’s Project Finance Specialist, Jack Shamutete, the health centers will enable marketers to easily access health facilities within their vicinity without being inconvenienced to travel to far-flung areas to seek for medical care services. The official launch of the clinic is slated to take place on February 8.

Jack Shamutete opined that the Association is highly interested in empowering and improving the welfare of marketers by offering them with conducive health environment in trading places across the country. Accordingly, the Association will continue to empower the marketers with soft loans which will be accessed through the National Saving Bank (NATSAVE) branches, as reported by Lusaka Times.

From the above-mentioned project, over six million traders are likely to be benefitted from the soft loans.
