Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced on Monday his involvement in the anti-obesity campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The chief minister celebrated this collaborative effort, emphasizing the significance of addressing obesity and its related health implications.

Abdullah took to social media, expressing his enthusiasm about supporting Prime Minister Modi's initiative. He highlighted the critical health risks posed by obesity, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and mental health disorders including anxiety and depression.

In a bid to extend the campaign's reach, Chief Minister Abdullah nominated 10 prominent figures, including Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Sajjan Jindal, Deepika Padukone, and others, urging them to continue the chain of nominations. The move aligns with PM Modi's recent appeal during his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, where he encouraged reducing oil consumption in diets.
