Miltenyi Biotec has inaugurated India’s first dedicated Cell and Gene Therapy Center of Excellence, situated in Hyderabad's Genome Valley. The Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Center (MITC) spans 1,800 square meters and is strategically designed to propel advancements in cell and gene therapy development, according to the company's announcement.

The facility seeks to boost innovation by merging expertise, best practices, and state-of-the-art technology to address diseases, such as cancer. It features a showroom with sophisticated MACS instruments and the CliniMACS Prodigy platform for therapy development and manufacture, along with opportunities for interactive training. In addition, it will act as a collaborative hub, hosting seminars and workshops on topics like immunology, stem cell biology, and cancer research.

At the center’s inauguration, Telangana’s Special Chief Secretary for Information Technology, Jayesh Ranjan, heralded the development as a significant milestone in establishing Telangana as a prime center for life sciences research and innovation. He noted that this collaboration will galvanize the healthcare ecosystem and advance cell and gene therapies. Miltenyi Biotec officials were present at the event, underscoring the company's commitment to providing global products and services that promote biomedical discovery.
