An autonomous neurological sciences institute will soon rise in Ahmedabad Civil Medicity, targeting diseases connected to the brain and nervous system. This project, declared by Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, aims to enhance treatment and research capabilities, a move that was shared with the assembly on Tuesday.
Patel highlighted that this development not only aims at improved patient care but also at elevating medical education and training standards for students and doctors. The proposed institute plans to introduce higher courses in neurology and neuroscience, with the potential of expanding through satellite centers across Gujarat.
Further, Patel outlined plans for an infrastructure boost in cancer treatment. New radiotherapy centers will emerge in Porbandar, Himmatnagar, Valsad, and Godhra, while pioneering cardiology services will reach into various cities, including a palliative care establishment across six government hospitals to support patients with critical diseases.
