The Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu city has announced its complete readiness to manage emergencies following the tragic cross-border firing that resulted in 12 fatalities, including four children, along the Line of Control (LoC).

Heavy artillery and mortar shelling by the Pakistan Army in the early hours led to injuries of 57 more individuals. Medical Superintendent Dr. Virender Trisal confirmed that the hospital has set up mini ICUs and ensured the availability of necessary resources such as medicines, ventilators, and monitors.

Over 200 beds have been prepared at the GMC hospital, which stands as one of the major medical centers besides AIIMS Vijaypur. Staff in border regions like Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, and Kathua have been alerted to tackle any emergency situation.
