Uttar Pradesh Boosts Vigilance Against Bird Flu in Zoos and Farms

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath held a meeting to address the H5N1 bird flu threat. He urged strict vigilance in zoos, sanctuaries, and poultry farms. Emphasizing preventive measures, including sanitization and health screenings, he called for coordination with health and veterinary departments to avoid human transmission.

In response to the looming threat of H5N1 avian influenza, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a crucial meeting on Tuesday, directing heightened vigilance across all zoos in the state.

The Chief Minister emphasized prioritizing the safety of animals in zoos, sanctuaries, and parks. According to an official statement, he urged implementing preventive strategies, including regular sanitization, inspection of animal feed, and mandatory health screenings for birds and animals.

To curb potential infection spread, he also ordered thorough monitoring of poultry farms and interaction with health institutions for risk assessments. Coordination among top officials was stressed to ensure full compliance with all measures.
