Healthcare services at AIIMS-Patna were significantly disrupted as resident doctors continued their strike against what they claim to be the heavy-handed actions of Sheohar MLA Chetan Anand.
Representatives of the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) convened with senior hospital officials on Saturday evening, amid ongoing attempts to resolve the situation.
The RDA is pushing for transparency and justice, specifically through the public release of CCTV footage pertinent to the incident. Legal assurances and the urgent installation of CCTV cameras in vulnerable areas within the hospital were also discussed during the meeting.
The association has demanded the immediate quashing of the false FIR filed against a doctor and is also calling for sections of the Arms Act to be invoked, citing concerns over weapons being present in a healthcare environment.
The medical community remains on strike, impacting emergency and outpatient services since Friday. Allegations swirl as both MLA Chetan Anand and hospital staff accuse each other of misconduct, with investigations progressing as police intervene.
