Dr. A K Rairu Gopal, affectionately called the 'people's doctor,' devoted his life to offering affordable healthcare to the underprivileged. Charging only Rs 2, Gopal served thousands in his residence-turned-clinic in Kerala.
Known for his unwavering commitment, his practice was a beacon for those in need, providing medication to patients unable to afford them. Despite health challenges leading to his clinic's closure in May 2024, Gopal's impact endured.
The 'two-rupee doctor' passed away at 80, survived by his family. Kerala's Chief Minister praised Gopal's altruistic contributions, highlighting his immense service to the state's poor.
