Illegal Nursing Home Tragedy: Quack and Wife on the Run

A pregnant woman died during a cesarean operation at an illegal nursing home in Aurai area, leading to the operators, a quack and his wife, absconding. The facility has been sealed, and additional female patients have been moved to a trauma center. Legal actions are being pursued against the couple.

Authorities in Mirzapur district are on the hunt for a couple, including a quack and his wife, after the woman lost her life during childbirth at their unauthorized nursing home on Wednesday. The couple has since evaded arrest, leaving a community in shock and mourning.

The tragedy occurred at Gupta Nursing Home, Trilokpur, where Vidyavati Devi, 28, was admitted for a cesarean operation. While the newborn survived, Devi tragically did not, inciting outrage from her family and drawing police intervention.

District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar dispatched medical and police teams to address the situation. The nursing home, lacking proper credentials, has been shut down, and a legal case is in progress as more than 10 other patients were evacuated for safety.
