A tragic incident unfolded in the Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow, where a 13-year-old boy hanged himself after squandering Rs 14 lakh from his father's bank account on an online game, according to police sources on Tuesday.
Mohanlalganj Station House Officer (SHO) D K Singh reported that Yash, a class six student, resorted to this extreme step on Monday. The boy's father discovered the drained account during a bank visit, leading to the boy's fearful action.
The family, upon hearing his sister's cries, found Yash unresponsive on the roof. Despite their immediate attempts to save him, doctors at a community health center declared him dead. In the wake of this incident, local citizens are calling for a ban on online gaming to prevent future tragedies.
