Goa's Health Minister Vishwajit Rane paid a visit to social activist Rama Kankonkar, who is currently hospitalized at the Goa Medical College and Hospital. Kankonkar was brutally attacked on September 18 by a group of individuals in Caranzalem, near Panaji.
In response to the incident, the GMCH has formed a dedicated committee to ensure that Kankonkar receives top-notch medical attention. Minister Rane confirmed that the activist is getting the best possible care, and his discharge will be decided by doctors after thorough health evaluations and consultations with his family.
The assault has led to the arrest of seven people, including known criminal Zenito Cardoso. The local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances around the attack as they gather evidence and statements from those involved.
