On Wednesday, BJP member Baburam Nishad urgently called for the establishment of an AIIMS in Mahoba to address the severe lack of medical facilities in the Bundelkhand region. During a session in the Rajya Sabha, Nishad highlighted the challenges people face, having to journey to distant places like Lucknow or Delhi for medical attention.

Nishad argued that Mahoba, being at the center of Bundelkhand, is ideally situated for a healthcare hub. He estimated that the medical institution could benefit around 2 crore people across Uttar Pradesh and parts of Madhya Pradesh. The current strain on the Jhansi medical college, he noted, could be alleviated with this development.

In the same session, BJP's Kavita Patidar proposed a Narmada riverfront in Madhya Pradesh, while AAP's Swati Maliwal championed increased pensions and travel concessions for the elderly. Additionally, Sikander Kumar of BJP addressed the pressing issue of water scarcity in the Himalayan regions.
