The Tamil Nadu government has stepped forward to ease public concerns about bird flu following the discovery of several dead crows in Vedasandur, Dindigul district. In a review meeting led by Chief Secretary N Muruganandham, officials from various departments provided updates and guidelines to manage and prevent any potential outbreak.

During the session, A Somasundaram, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, clarified that no human cases of bird flu have been reported within the state. He outlined the government's preventive measures, while advising the public to report any sightings of dead birds to local authorities or the Animal Husbandry department.

The government has released comprehensive guidelines, urging the public not to believe rumors and to contact the 24-hour helpline for clarity. Citizens are advised to seek medical attention if they experience symptoms like fever or difficulty breathing and to ensure proper cooking of poultry products.
