A tragic incident unfolded at MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur when a patient allegedly jumped to his death from the fourth floor early Friday morning. The deceased, suffering from both HIV and tuberculosis, reportedly made previous attempts to jump out of despair.

The patient had been admitted a week prior on March 16, according to family members. Despite his mother intervening during two prior attempts on Thursday night, the individual found an opportunity in the early hours of Friday while she was asleep.

Sachin Kumar Das, Officer-in-Charge of MGM police station, stated that a thorough investigation is ongoing. The incident has raised concerns about patient care and mental health support in state-run hospitals.
