In a bid to combat tuberculosis, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh reiterated the critical role of early detection. On Thursday, he inaugurated a new TB Diagnostic and Treatment Centre at Vikas Nagar's Ayushman Arogya Mandir, an initiative aligned with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme.
The centre, established by Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital's chest clinic, offers free diagnostic services, including NAAT testing, and comprehensive care. This development forms part of the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 2.0', targeting a TB-free India by 2030 through proactive, community-driven strategies.
During the launch, various health screenings took place, accompanied by awareness campaigns. Since March, numerous Ayushman Arogya Shivirs have screened thousands across Delhi, underpinning efforts towards TB prevention and patient support under government programmes.
