In a distressing incident in Odisha's Jajpur district, 58 people, including 27 children, were hospitalized after consuming a local delicacy known as 'Cuttack Dahibara'. Officials suggest the dish as the potential cause of widespread illness.
The incident unfolded in Patapur village when villagers fell sick, presenting symptoms of vomiting and fever shortly after eating from a local vendor. Patients were urgently admitted to local health centers for treatment.
With both state officials and family welfare authorities on site, food and water samples were collected for analysis. The government has mobilized three investigative teams to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences.
