In a move aimed at improving healthcare delivery, the Delhi government has revised its implementation guidelines under the Delhi Arogya Kosh (DAK) scheme. The measures are intended to streamline patient referrals and improve transparency while ensuring economically weaker patients access timely medical treatment.
Officials announced that the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has instructed authorities to check for the availability of free Economically Weaker Section (EWS) beds in designated private hospitals before referring patients for surgeries or treatments under DAK. Government hospitals have been emphasized for imaging services unless unavailable or beyond a three-day timeframe.
Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that these directives aim to create a more accountable and patient-centric healthcare system. Under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's leadership, the government remains committed to affordable and accessible healthcare for all citizens of the capital.
