Spaniard Tests Positive for Hantavirus After Cruise Evacuation

A Spaniard under quarantine in Madrid, following evacuation from a cruise ship in Tenerife, has tested positive for hantavirus, as confirmed by the Health Ministry on Monday.

The ministry reported that the remaining 13 Spaniards quarantined at the same military hospital tested negative for the virus.

Despite testing positive, the patient is asymptomatic and in good condition, with further tests pending to confirm the initial results shortly.
