Himachal Pradesh to Launch New Doctor Incentive Scheme

The Himachal Pradesh administration plans to implement an incentive scheme for medical faculty, promising a 20% bonus to professors. Efforts are also underway to fill numerous medical positions and enhance health infrastructure with cutting-edge technology across the state.

The Himachal Pradesh administration is set to introduce an incentive scheme to benefit the faculty in medical colleges, announced Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Professors, associate professors, and assistant professors will receive a 20% incentive under the new program.

In a meeting with the Medical Education Department, Sukhu stated plans to fill 110 assistant professors and 120 para-medical posts. The government is also considering the construction of a mother and child hospital on the IGMC Shimla Campus, while expanding and upgrading the existing health infrastructure in the state.

Additionally, there are plans to increase postgraduate seats in medical colleges, fill all vacant nurse positions this year, and ensure adequate technical staff in medical facilities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize health resources throughout Himachal Pradesh.
