AI Revolutionizes Patient Care, Improves Efficiency in Healthcare
Artificial intelligence is transforming patient care by enhancing accuracy and efficiency, according to a survey by Philips. The technology is poised to change clinicians' roles, boosting productivity and potentially cutting costs. However, many clinicians report gaps in AI training, highlighting a need for comprehensive education.
Artificial intelligence is significantly enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of patient care, according to a survey by Philips, a company that provides diagnostic, imaging, and cloud technology services to the healthcare sector.
Jeff DiLullo, CEO of Philips North American Division, noted that AI has increased labor productivity, allowing clinicians to see more patients weekly. "The median number of additional patients they can meet per week is five," he said, emphasizing the economic impact on healthcare systems.
The Future Health Index survey, conducted by Vitreous World, involved over 22,000 respondents from 10 countries. Findings reveal that AI has led to budget savings for 30% of doctors, reduced medical errors, and increased weekly patient consultations. Despite these benefits, 77% of clinicians reported inadequate AI training, highlighting a gap between technology and its implementation.
