World Health Organization (WHO) and Uganda's Ministry of Health have issued a joint press declaring the country is safe and all national and international travelers are free to travel to and within the country. On July 24, Uganda completed 42 days since the death of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) patient which occurred in Kasese district. This is the period recommended by WHO to monitor the situation for any EVD cases that may arise out of the contacts with the confirmed case.

There are no confirmed cases of Ebola anywhere in Uganda and the outbreak is deemed contained after the period of 42 days.

Uganda's Ministry of Health, however, reiterated that all travelers from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will be screened at the Health desk at Entebbe International Airport and at border entry points in high-risk districts for signs and symptoms of EVD. People who have traveled to DR Congo in last 21 days will also be screened.
