A Brazilian federal aid package to tackle the impact of the coronavirus outbreak would have full congressional support, the head of Brazil's lower house said on Tuesday, adding that he hoped to see something in the next days and weeks.
Rodrigo Maia, Brazil's most powerful lawmaker, also said he thought the government should have already closed Brazil's borders, restricted international flights and travel in the most affected areas like Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo states.
Congress only shut down during Brazil's dictatorship, and would stay open now, he added.
