Narendra Modi Highlights India-Austria Ties and Future Vision at Vienna Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the historical and cultural ties between India and Austria during a community event in Vienna. He also shared his ambitious vision for India’s future, aiming to make it one of the top three global economies by 2047, the centenary of India's independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a community event in Vienna on Wednesday, underscoring the long-standing and significant historical and cultural ties between India and Austria. Modi noted that the historical connection has been mutually beneficial, fostering cultural exchange and commercial relations.

Modi emphasized the global interest in India's current thoughts and actions, stating that India has been a proponent of peace and prosperity for thousands of years, instead of war. 'India has shared knowledge and expertise globally for millennia. We can proudly say that India has given the world not 'yuddh' (war) but 'Buddha' (peace),' he said.

Expressing pride in India's role as a global partner (Vishwa Bandhu), Modi highlighted India's commitment to continuing this role into the 21st century. He stressed the importance of public participation in strengthening international relations. 'Relations between two countries are not just formed by governments. Public participation is essential,' Modi noted.

Further, Modi shared his ambitious vision for India's future, aiming to make it one of the top three economies globally by 2047, the 100th anniversary of India's independence. He envisions a strong, developed India that will thrive for the next 1000 years. 'India will be 'Viksit' in every manner. We are laying a strong foundation for the next 1000 years,' Modi added. Members of the Indian diaspora chanted 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' after his address.
