UAE Cabinet Reshuffle: Key Appointments and Structural Overhaul Announced

The UAE has announced a major cabinet reshuffle, including the appointment of new Deputy Prime Ministers, a new Minister of Education, and the creation of several new ministerial posts. Additionally, the country has initiated a significant restructuring of its education sector to enhance governance and development.

Dubai [UAE], July 15 (ANI/WAM): Following the approval of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a new cabinet formation has been announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The reshuffle includes the appointment of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Deputy Prime Minister alongside his role as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Significant changes include restructuring the education system, appointing a new Minister of Sports, and a Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. Sheikh Hamdan's appointment is seen as a major step, with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasizing his leadership qualities and commitment to UAE's future. The new structure focuses on comprehensive governance and enhanced collaboration across the education sector to support human development and the community.

The restructure integrates the Emirates Schools Establishment and the Federal Agency of Early Education with the Ministry of Education, now led by Minister Sarah Al Amiri. Further appointments include Abdulrahman Al Awar as acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Ahmad Belhoul as Minister of Sports and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, among others. Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei has been named Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.

Sheikh Mohammed affirmed the reshuffle aims to unify visions across education, human development, and community sectors to foster communication and collaboration for improved governance and strategic planning. The Education, Human Resources, and Community Development Council will oversee these efforts, alongside newly established entities such as the Quality of Education Centre and a General Secretariat to streamline processes and ensure strategic alignment with national goals.
