South Africa is poised to launch the third BRICS+ Summer School, bringing together students and scientists from the Global South and member nations. The event, hosted by the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg's Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation (IPATC), aims to foster deeper understanding and cooperation among BRICS members.

The Summer School will delve into the history, principles, current initiatives, and future prospects of the BRICS bloc. BRICS+ refers to the expanded intergovernmental alliance, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. The inclusion of Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the UAE as full members was formalized during last year's summit in South Africa.

The program aims to not only expand participants' knowledge of BRICS countries but also strengthen connections between member nations across various sectors, including economics and culture. The event invites young individuals aged 18-35, students from grades 9-12, young leaders, researchers, unemployed youth, young professionals interested in international relations, and entrepreneurs from BRICS+ and Global South countries. SABYA will provide meals, shared accommodation, and assist international participants with entry permits. Applications are open until July 31, making the Summer School a key tool for fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
