Israel's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced a comprehensive outline for the rehabilitation of agricultural land damaged during the 'Iron Swords' conflict against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. The new guidelines estimate the initial restoration costs to range between 1,000 and 3,000 Shekels (USD 272 - USD 816) per quarter-acre, varying with the extent of the damage.

The rehabilitation outline details six key types of damage, including the manual removal of waste, soil decontamination, repair of drainage systems, and restoration of field access roads. Specific focus is also on ensuring the quality and quantity of future crop yields by preparing the land and dispersing organic matter and seeds post-cleaning.

Since the outbreak of the conflict on October 7th, extensive agricultural areas have been repurposed for military activity, resulting in significant soil degradation and compromised crop productivity both in the short and long term. The Ministry highlights the urgent need for immediate intervention to restore the land's fertility and growth capabilities.
