Jaishankar Calls for Global Cooperation to Combat Terrorism at ASEAN Forum
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the need for international cooperation to combat terrorism and cybercrime during his participation at the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane. He also affirmed India's support for ASEAN unity and its commitment to regional security, prosperity, and maritime safety.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on the international community to adopt a robust approach in combating terrorism in all its forms, dismantling terror sanctuaries, and addressing UN-proscribed terrorism financing networks. During his participation at the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane, he also stressed the importance of tackling cybercrime.
Jaishankar underscored India's strong support for ASEAN unity, centrality, and the ASEAN outlook in the Indo-Pacific. He noted that only international cooperation can ensure global security and the delivery of global goods. He emphasized that nations should work together to combat terrorism and secure the global commons.
Highlighting the synergy between India's Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative and the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific, Jaishankar reiterated the importance of maritime safety, security, freedom of navigation, and peaceful dispute resolution according to international law. He also met with various counterparts to discuss bilateral ties and regional issues, raising concerns about cyber scam trafficking with the Laos Prime Minister.
