A United Airlines flight en route from Houston to Boston was unexpectedly diverted to Washington DC's Dulles International Airport following a biohazard incident onboard. Sources indicate that the alarming situation left crew members vomiting and passengers in distress.
Flight UA2477, operated by a Boeing 737-800, had to make an unscheduled landing on July 28, according to the airline and reports from the New York Post. The issue necessitated a 'deep clean' of the aircraft before it could resume its journey.
'I talked to the crew and it sounds like it's quite bad back there. The crew is vomiting, and passengers all around are asking for masks,' a crew member stated in an audio recording. Despite the mid-air ordeal, all 155 passengers and six crew members landed safely without requiring medical assistance.
The airline reassured that the aircraft is undergoing extensive cleaning, and efforts are underway to ensure that passengers reach Boston as soon as possible.
