Qatar has issued a strong condemnation over the killing of Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in an attack in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The Qatari government emphasized that this assassination and the reckless targeting of civilians could plunge the region into chaos, undermining peace efforts.

The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the killing as a 'heinous crime' and a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law. 'The State of Qatar strongly condemns the assassination of the Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital, Tehran,' the Ministry said in an official statement. The Ministry stressed that such acts would destabilize the region and further jeopardize peace.

Other countries, including Turkiye, Iran, and Pakistan, also condemned the assassination. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs called it a 'heinous attack' aimed at spreading conflict from Gaza to a regional level, and reiterated its support for the Palestinian cause. Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended condolences to Haniyeh's family and strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms.
