The event has strained relations, with China accusing Taiwan's Coast Guard of "brutal and dangerous" behavior. However, Taipei maintains that their actions were lawful and in accordance with established protocols.

Recently, Taiwan's MAC Deputy Head Liang Wen-chieh stated that this issue is now resolved, praising the goodwill shown by both parties. He emphasized the need to avoid future tensions, despite China's patrols around the disputed area and controversial statements labeling the incident a "malicious collision."
