Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder, Imran Khan, criticized the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, calling it 'foolish' and predicting its imminent end, as reported by ARY News.
Speaking to reporters in Adiala Jail, where he is currently held, the former Prime Minister accused the government of misunderstanding the situation and sinking deeper into chaos. Khan stated that he has ample time compared to the government, demanding that CCTV footage of the May 9 riots be made public to identify the real culprits.
He emphasized his commitment to expelling any PTI worker found involved in the riots and issued a conditional apology for the sake of Pakistan. Khan also claimed that the government is trying to eliminate his party and warned that PTI would not accept election results under the current conditions.
Khan reiterated his earlier statement on July 30, directing his party workers to hold a peaceful protest outside the military's General Headquarters in Rawalpindi before his arrest on May 9, 2023. He mentioned producing a witness in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
On November 13, 2023, the Islamabad Accountability Court issued arrest warrants for Khan in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases, involving allegations of corruption and abuse of authority, currently under the National Accountability Bureau's investigation.
