Imran Khan Supports Military Accountability Amid Corruption Case Hearing

Khan also accused top government and military officials of conspiring against him. Arrests related to his imprisonment have continued, and security measures around his detention have been heightened.

Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Thursday expressed support for the military's internal accountability measures, calling for across-the-board action. Khan made these remarks at Adiala jail after a hearing in a corruption case, involving £190 million, as reported by Dawn.

Khan also referred to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif's statements, suggesting an investigation into the alleged involvement of retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed in the May 9 protests. During his tenure as Prime Minister, Hameed was the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

As part of the ongoing investigation, two more officials from the Punjab Prisons Department were arrested. Khan attributed the May 9 protests to his 'illegal' arrest and demanded that those who ordered it be investigated. Additionally, he alleged a 'London Plan' to topple his government and accused several high-ranking officials of being involved in the conspiracy. Surveillance and security measures around Khan's detention have also been intensified.
