UAE's Commitment to Women's Empowerment Highlighted at Cairo Conference

Omar Habtoor Al Darei emphasized the UAE's historic dedication to women's empowerment during the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo. He highlighted the foundational role of women in combating extremism and promoting national identity, while advocating for renewed religious discourse and greater female participation.

During the opening session of the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo, Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the UAE's enduring commitment to women's empowerment. This tradition, he noted, dates back to the era of the UAE's Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continues to be championed by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.

Al Darei praised the role of women in combating extremist ideologies and fortifying national identity among future generations. He emphasized the crucial contributions of women as primary educators, stressing their role in fostering values of moderation, tolerance, and education. Addressing women's issues such as education, employment, and decision-making, he underscored their significance in societal development.

He also called for a renewal of religious discourse and stronger support for women’s participation in the field, advocating for a proactive stance in empowering women in various domains.
