Abu Dhabi Hosts Workshop with Korean Institute to Enhance Correctional Systems

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department organized a workshop in collaboration with the Institute of Justice of the Republic of Korea to discuss advanced systems in managing rehabilitation and correctional centres. The initiative aims to enhance global competitiveness and align with the directives of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), through its Judicial Academy (ADJA), has organized a workshop in collaboration with South Korea's Institute of Justice to explore the latest systems in managing rehabilitation and correctional centers. This workshop aimed at knowledge exchange and discussing international best practices.

The event aligns with directives from Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of ADJD, to enhance global partnerships and adopt international experiences. Counsellor Hasan Alhammadi emphasized UAE’s commitment to rehabilitating inmates and highlighted recent legislative advancements, including Law No. 4 of 2024.

Korean experts, including Lee Ki-hyun and professors Ahn Hyo Jeong and Lee Seok Jin, discussed their country's use of modern technologies, vocational training programs, and the training and qualification processes for correctional officers. These collaborations aim to prepare inmates for societal reintegration and reduce recidivism.
