The Station House Officer (SHO) of Karachi Company police station has been suspended and faces departmental action. The station clerk (Moharrar) was dismissed for not addressing a complaint involving a policeman who kidnapped, unlawfully detained, tortured, and raped two minors, police reports confirmed on Tuesday.

Similarly, the SHO of Shams Colony police station was suspended but reinstated within hours. The sexual assault occurred at Shams Colony police station, police told Dawn. Officials stated that both the SHO and station clerk of Shams Colony neglected to address the illegal detention and assault at their station, contributing to further scrutiny of oversight by Sub-Divisional Police Officers and SPs.

The victims' father reported the incident to the police hotline on September 15 and filed a formal complaint at Karachi Company police station on September 18. The family's social media video detailing the incident caught police attention. An inquiry led by DIG Syed Ali Raza concluded the SHO and clerks' failure, leading to criminal charges against the sub-inspector.
