In the wake of protests over the demise of a third-year BTech student, KIIT University is taking measures to ensure the return of Nepali students, assuring their safety and resumption of normal campus operations. Additional Registrar Shyam Sundar Behura confirmed that no protests are currently held by students on campus.

Behura stated that the university has made concerted efforts to communicate with the students' families, facilitating their return to the campus. Over 100 students have already returned, and classes have resumed as normal. The university is making all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth transition back to regular academic activities.

State intervention includes assurances from Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, who engaged with Nepali officials to promote peace and normalcy. The case of the deceased student, Prakriti, remains a key focus, with officials emphasizing that justice will prevail, further encouraging students to return and resume their studies.
