The East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE) has issued a strong condemnation of Turkiye for its partnership with China, which the ETGE claims supports Beijing's oppressive actions in East Turkistan. Turkiye's economic and political ties with China are allegedly aiding in the colonization and genocide of the region's indigenous Turkic population.

During the G20 Summit on February 20, 2025, the meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi underscored Turkiye's alignment with China's strategies. The ETGE claims that the countries' commitments to increased 'counterterrorism' cooperation disguise the true nature of Turkiye's support in China's alleged monitoring and control of Uyghurs and other Turkic communities.

ETGE officials, including Foreign and Security Minister Salih Hudayar and President Mamtmin Ala, have condemned Turkiye's actions as a historic betrayal of Turkic peoples. They urge the international community to officially recognize East Turkistan as an occupied nation and to counter China's policies with decisive actions.
