In a stark denunciation, Paank, the human rights arm of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), has condemned the recent spate of forced abductions in Balochistan. The latest incident involved the disappearance of Mohaib Baloch from his local tailor shop in Kech on February 24, 2025, reportedly taken by security forces.
Paank's statement on social media platform X described the act as a 'blatant enforced disappearance' and a 'grave violation of human rights and international laws.' This follows the abduction of Karim Jan and Noorullah on February 23 in Mashkai Khandri Tehsil, prompting urgent calls for their release and the end to these human rights abuses.
Balochistan's human rights crisis is underscored by systemic discrimination, political repression, and economic exploitation, with international entities like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International demanding accountability from Pakistan. Despite global outcry, the region continues to suffer from militarization, civilian casualties, and media censorship, hindering progress toward resolving these profound issues.
