At Chicago's Midway Airport on Tuesday, a Southwest Airlines plane narrowly avoided colliding with a private jet on the runway, as reported by the New York Post.

Southwest Flight 2504 and FlexJet Flight 560 faced a harrowing moment. Control tower audio released by Flightradar 24 revealed the private jet being instructed to hold short of the central runway. Despite acknowledging these instructions, the jet dangerously proceeded onto the runway.

The situation became tense as the private jet, a Challenger 350, crossed the runway path of Southwest's Boeing 737. The Southwest pilot questioned the tower's oversight, though communications from the tower ceased. Fortunately, the swift actions of both pilots prevented a catastrophe, as reported by the New York Post, with the FAA noting that the private jet had violated runway instructions.
